**The Phase angle is the angle of separation between the Sun and Earth as observed from the surface of the Moon. It is also referred to as the Sun-Moon-Earth or Earth-Moon-Sun angle.

#Elongation is also known as the ‘Solar Elongation’ which is the angle of separation between the Moon or any celestial object and the Sun. Elongation can also be used to measure the angle of separation between any two celestial objects in the night skies as measured from the Earth’s surface.
