“The Moon is a 4.5-billion-year-old time capsule”
Join us Friday, April 26 at Jack Fields Elementary School in Humble for our monthly gathering!
The FYI session begins at 6:30 with a special FYI guest, Annie Wargetz. Her topic is “The Most Precious Gold”. The talk will take us on a journey through the cultural and scientific history of one of the most important celestial objects: The Sun. She will present a few cultural aspects of the Sun and look at the history of our exploration of the Sun. She will talk about the references to the Sun that have stretched across numerous cultures, such as the Sun goddess in Japan who gave power to the emperors in times past. She’ll also speak about historical events influenced by the Sun, including a war that ceased when a solar eclipse occurred.
At 7:30, Jenny Gruber and Tyler Hines will be giving us an update on NASA’s exciting Artemis mission. Artemis is exploring the Moon for scientific discovery, technology advancement, and to learn how to live and work on another world as we prepare for human missions to Mars.
Hope to see you there!
