Hello NHAC!
Join us on Friday September 26 for our monthly NHAC meeting at Jack Fields Elementary School.
Here is what we have lined up:
6:30 p.m. Sol Bobst will talk about the Slooh Remote Telescope program
7:30 p.m. James Dent will discuss dark matter. His work is in theoretical physics phenomenology mainly dealing with exploring the possible nature of dark matter. This includes dark matter searches over a wide range of particle masses, as well as investigating the possibility that primordial black holes could be the dark matter. This works encompasses issues in early universe cosmology such as the growth of supermassive black holes or possible phase transitions, as well as signatures such as gravitational waves.
He will briefly discuss some of the evidence for dark matter, but will mainly discuss efforts at detecting dark matter in the form of primordial black holes.
See you then!
