President's Letter June 2007 |

From the President
This has been a sad month for the North Houston Astronomy Club. On May 7, 2007, one of our members, Henry Norton passed away. Henry was a dedicated member of our club, and although he was busy with his new hardware store, the North Houston Astronomy Club and Astronomy were always in this thoughts. He will be missed.
Over the years Henry played a big role in the club. He exemplified our club's philosophy of Observe, Learn, and Share. He was our Observation Chairman, chef at our Barbecues, presenter at Novice meetings and Astronomy Day, and fixer of our club astronomical equipment.
Kelsy Norton, his daughter, is also a member of the club. We certainly wish her the best as she goes off to Arizona to become one of the great astronomers of the 21st century. Good luck, Kelsey, our thoughts and dreams are with you. Do great things.
We will miss Henry's humor, his knowledge and all of his hard work. He was a dedicated astronomer, a Master Observer, and a very good friend. He has now taken his rightful place among the stars.
Aaron Clevenson
President, North Houston Astronomy Club
